Many of us spend a lot of time and energy trying to figure out their own strengths and weaknesses. At a tender age of 5, parents decide our future for us. Whether to invest all the time and energy to cultivate a world class sports-person out of their offspring, or sign him up with piano, art and multi-tuition classes, hoping that he'll be a millionaire in 30 years' time.

In my case, my parents signed me up for swimming classes, refrained me from joining the school's soccer club and refused to buy more novels for me because I was reading more than they could afford to buy. They did that till I was 14, after which I spent the next decade figuring out my life for myself.

Bit by bit, I've learnt that I'm not really strong at theoretical subjects, after I found myself failing out of UOL's diploma course.

Two years after I obtained a Diploma in IT, figured that I weren't that keen on keeping myself constantly updated in that field.

Today, a decade later I can envision myself in a business suit, working at a major major bank doing financial stuff (too vague, I know).

But hey. I'm at a crossroad where I have an option to go for RMIT's BBus.Econs&Finance, or crawl back to UOL's BSc.Banking&Finance, of which my heart tells me to go for the latter.

Fail again, how? Mister Brain and Mister Heart constantly battling away on this issue.

Go UOL and commit to plain hard work! Easier said than done.

Oh well. For the time being, I'm enjoying every minute of my Business Finance class.

Today's the 1st day of July, 2007, and today's such an exciting day! Isn't it cool that we're actually at such a historical day, one that we shall be able to tell our greatest-great-grandchildren about?

"... That was the day where 你爺爺我 gotta pay more when I had to buy things like soap bars and soya bean milk to support the increase of the GahmenSalaryTax. Also, 01/07/07 was the day where smokers no longer can smoke freely at chionging places ah! Not very good for seasoned 2nd hand smokers like 你爺爺我, but its not so bad because the air at the dance floor will be as fresh as the air at MacRitchie, less the sweaty and over-enthu. guys..."

I believe the $350 worth of tokens I received in my bank will somehow offset the 2% increase, for the entire year. Which means I should buy with, always calculating to ensure that I do not overspend the tokens. That was the main reason why I was given the tokens, no? To offset the hike? More cautious consumers = improved economy? o.o I better not run out of tokens, else I'll have no more when the screen says "Insert Token To Continue".

Speaking of consumers... I think there will be more cases of snatch theft, now that NETS has decided to increase their fees as well, while "making sure" that the increase will not passed on to consumers. So I think tomorrow when I go buy my brand new spanking home theater system that will cost me $463,234.35, I better bring cash!

Tomorrow's 1st day of school, but I have to bring my CableTV box down to PS to terminate my subscription. Its blatantly atrocious that I have to pay an extra $14, up from my usual $55 just so that I can watch my favourite Filipe Massa, Michael Ballack and Jamie Carragher. A 25.454545...% increase? LAUGHS OUT LOUD.
